Meet Preview: Fleet Feet Invitational

Teams to watch

Madison Central HS (Boys)

The former podium-ranked team, Madison Central, is still the same team they were last year. They have had two hot, muggy meets and may not have the flashy times yet, but we stand by our statement that this team is talented. Colin Brannon is a solid No. 1, Benjamin Owens is a solid No. 2, and they have a competent 3-5 on paper.

With that being said... The 2022 Fleet Feet Invitational win on Saturday won't be easy.

Germantown High School (Boys and Girls)

In Germantown's season opener at the 2022 Eagle Claw Invitational, they scored a perfect 15 points going 1-6 on the day.

On top of that, they followed that up with a fourth-place finish at the 2022 Opener, finishing as the second Mississippi team on the day behind Oak Grove High School.

Behind Kohl Griffin, their second through fifth runners are all behind each other in relatively quick succession, making for a valuable small point spread, which is crucial to have on the team side. There is no telling if they can take the win from Madison Central, but expect Germantown to pressure the Jaguars at the 2022 Fleet Feet Invitational.

On the High School Girl's team side, the scores, on paper, are expected to be close. The Germantown girl's side is in the hunt to take the win. So far this season, they had a runner-up finish at the 2022 Eupora Invitational, followed by a tenth-place team finish at the 2022 Opener. On Saturday, they have a solid top four who could look to challenge for a top 10 individual finish.

The Germantown girls could face some obstacles with the Lady Pirates, however.
